Ards FC this week accepted the resignation of club physiotherapist John Weatherup after three and a half years in the role.

The decision came following the delivery of a three match suspension, imposed on the physio by the Irish Football Association. The ban related to incidents reported by the match referee in the recent win against Armagh City at Holm Park.

First team coach Andy Harwood is to fill the physio's role on match days until the end of the season, while any player requiring additional treatment will be seen by an independent doctor.

The club would like to thank John Weatherup for his involvement with the club and wish him well in the future.
