Larne 0 Ards 1

Another strike from Craig McMillen - his fourth of pre-season - gave us a single goal win over Larne at Inver Park.

This pre-season friendly won't live long in the memory, but Ards did enough to earn their narrow victory. Ards almost had the lead in the first minute of the game when former Larne striker Guillaume Keke latched on to a ball over the top, but the French forward saw his effort saved by the goalkeeper.

The visitors would have to wait until the 49th minute to opening the scoring. A cross from the left-flank by Michael Ruddy was met at the back post by Craig McMillen, who found the net from around 10 yards.

Ards were unable to add to McMillen's strike, but they did see more of the ball in the second half, with Carl McComb and trialist Seamus McDonnell keeping Larne on their toes.

While this was a forgettable game for the Ards support, it was a useful workout for the players and coaching staff.
